In fulfilling its mission of patient care, Western Alliance serves the professional medical community and the general public. In addition to answering private calls for ambulance services, Western Alliance is an authorized Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider for Bradford County participating in the 9-1-1 system in cooperation with the Department of Public Health. Western Alliance Paramedic crews and ambulance units are dispatched via the county’s 9-1-1 emergency response system and are on call 24 hours a day serving hundreds of residents, medical providers, hospitals, and visitors annually, fulfilling a vital role in response to 9-1-1 emergency calls. Western Alliance also provides Basic Life Support Services (BLS) with a crew made up of Drivers, First Responders and EMTs. BLS provides basic life support care such as controlling bleeding, bandaging, administering oxygen, assisting the patient with the administration of approved medications, Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) and continued care until ALS arrives with the advanced care.
