Our ambulances also provide Non Emergency ALS & BLS inter facility patient transfers for specialized care so that in-patients at one hospital can share in the specialties of another. Our units also provide discharge transport to a rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility after treatment for a cardiac event or a major surgery, An ALS unit would consist of a Paramedic and an EMT while a BLS unit would have 2 EMT’s.
